The La’s, Liverpool rock band, have announced a revolutionary London show, which will take place on July 21st (Thursday). Band front-man Lee Mavers, head vocalist and guitarist, is said to be excited about their surprise gig.

Their debut album, The La’s, was released in 1990 and yet no follow up material ever emerged from the band. The influential group released classic songs, including; “Way Out” (1987), “Timeless Melody” (1990) and their most famous hit single “There She Goes” (1988). Although making a come-back in 2005, it was short-lived. Despite this, The La’s are due to appear this summer at a number of festivals, including Rock En Seine in Paris and Bestival.

All the way back in 2006, fellow band member John Power, backing vocals and bassist of the La’s, was indefinite about the reality of any additional record. He said that Mavers was “Still tinkering with something that’s majestic”, when asked about any possible release date, he replied “I can’t tell you where and when… because whatever he does, whether it’s in this lifetime or the next, it can’t be rushed.”
